"Hyperion holds a trump card in Philippe Graffin, whose elegant, emotionally charged playing is strongly reminiscent of the young Menuhin and whose understanding of the idiom seems to me second to none - certainly among modern players."
"ardent and aristocratic playing"
"Philippe Graffins performances are especially remarkable for their breathtaking virtuosity, profound lyricism and expressive freedom"
Philippe Graffin's ever-questing mind has led him to rediscover original settings of classics (such as Chausson's Poeme and Ravel's Tzigane). He has recorded many rare sonatas and forgotten violin concertos (a.o, Faure, Coleridge-Taylor) and the original manuscript version of Elgar's Violin Concerto. All his rare finds, though some are unpublished, are available in the libraries of the world. Graffin does not own the scores and we respectfully state that we cannot supply material or information as to his sources.
