2011/12 HIGHLIGHTS

Graffin's highly successful 11/12 season included a recital in Venice for the Centre de Musique Romantique Française TELEVISED by MEZZO; concerts with the Georges Enesco Philharmonic in Bucharest (now on Youtube); a centenary performance of the Coleridge-Taylor Violin Concerto and festival performances in France this summer at the Festival de Chambord, Festival Pablo Casals Prades and Festival d'Orangerie de Sceaux.


EXCITING NEW 2012/13 SEASON

Elgar and Dutilleux in Germany
In September Philippe Graffin performs the ELGAR Violin Concerto on tour with the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken with performances in Saarbrücken, Kaiserslautern and Mainz; He returns to Germany later in the season to perform a trio of French works by DUTILLEUX, RAVEL and CHAUSSON with the Bielefeld Philharmoniker.

Bach and Schoenberg in Amsterdam
Graffin begins a relationship with KAMermuziek Amsterdam with two fascinating programmes at the CONCERTGEBOUW, Amsterdam: a recital of BACH Suites and Sonatas with Claire Désert and a sextet programme of Weigl and Schoenberg with Gary Hoffman, Asdis Valdismarsdottir and the Sequenza Trio.

Shchedrin in Vilnius
In a concert to mark the 80th birthday of Rodion Shchedrin, Graffin is invited to perform the composer's Concerto Cantabile with the Lithuanian National Symphony.

Britten in South Africa
In Britten's centenary year Graffin, renowned for his performances of British repertoire, is invited to perform the Britten Concerto with the Cape Philharmonic and Kwa-Zulu Natal Philharmonic.

In France with Kovacevich
Graffin is invited by Concerts du Poche to perform recitals with pianist Stephen Kovacevich.

Return to Italy
In addition to recitals in VERONA, SAVONA and MONFALCONE, Graffin is re-invited to the Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano e Trento to perform LAZZARI and SAINT-SAENS.

Philippe Graffin is Founder and Artistic Director of Consonances de Saint-Nazaire and Guest Professor at the Royal Conservatorium Brussels & The Hague Conservatory.

'DEBUSSY ET NOUS'


For the opening concert of the 22nd edition of his festival Philippe Graffin commissioned and performed the WORLD PREMIERE of Nicola Campogrande's 'Quatres modes d'extinction du jour' (from a forgotten sketch by Debussy) and Dutilleux's Nocturne sur un meme accord with the Divertimento Orchestra under Zahia Ziouani and programmed with Debussy's Nocturnes.
