TASMANIAN SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, HOWARD SHELLEY

für,,Potter: Piano Concerto No.2 in D minor & Piano Concertos No.4 in E major” (HYPERION/note 1)

Cipriani Potter Piano Concertos 2 & 4 / Hyperion CDA 68151

Not for the first time, I was lost in admiration by his dazzling dispatch of the fantastically demanding writing in the outer movements of both concertos. […] Add to that his simultaneous and complete control of his fine Tasmanian players.  I cannot think of another musician who is Shelley’s equal in this dual role’
Gramophone, August 2017

BBC Music Magazine, August 2017: Concerto Choice  Performance: 5 stars; Recording: 5 stars

‘Vivacious and assured readings by Howard Shelley and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. Shelley’s pianistic technique rings with glistening clarity, and the balance and placement of instruments is excellent. The recording is warm, intimate and clear, bristling with excitement and exuding a sophistication that is completely assured.’
